HM122 BUSHLANDER™ SAWMILL

The Woodland Mills HM122 Bushlander™ is an affordable and portable sawmill solution for hobby sawyers who want to mill their lumber on-site. With a maximum cutting capacity of 22” (55cm) in diameter and 20” (51cm) in width, you can easily cut standard length boards of 10’ 4” (3.1m) or optionally the XL version can mill boards of 16’ 9” (5.1m). The HM122 features a robust 4-post design made of steel components that are powder-coated or galvanized for added durability. Its power comes with a reliable 9.5hp 4-cycle Kohler petrol engine. Innovative features of the HM122 include the auto-lubricant blade system, which keeps the blade lubricated during operation, a vibration-activated hour meter and the RapidChange™ blade system which enables you to quickly change blades without tools. The Bushlander Trailer is included with the HM122 sawmill, making it easy to transport to your log pile, even on rough terrain. The trailer has leveling legs that allow for quick deployment once you reach your milling location.

PRECISION CUTTING

The HM122 Bushlander portable sawmill is designed to cut logs with a diameter of up to 22 inches (55cm) and a length of up to 10 feet 4 inches (3.1m). It is also capable of producing live edge boards that are up to 20 inches (51cm) wide and veneers as thin as 1/16 inch (1.6mm). The portable sawmill can cut the logs within 1 inch (25mm) of the deck, ensuring maximum usable board foot output.

EFFICIENT POWER

Powered by a reliable 7.0HP or 9.5HP 4-cycle Kohler gas/petrol engine. The HM122 features a slant cylinder design, with a cast iron cylinder bore and an overhead valve for easy access. The Quad-Clean 4-stage air filtration system ensures only clean air enters the engine for maximum power and life of the engine. Attached to the engine is an industrial centrifugal clutch system for easy gas-and-go operation. Backed by a 3-year Kohler commercial warranty.

RIGID TRACK SYSTEM

The HM122 portable sawmill is equipped with a sturdy track system that comprises of a machined “L” channel measuring 2 3/8″ x 2.5″ (6cm x 6cm) and heavy-duty rectangular log bunks measuring 2 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ (6cm x 12cm). These log bunks provide additional rigidity to the track system and disperse the weight of the log over a large bearing surface to prevent marking the log with indentations. The track system comes with a standard Bushlander track, which features a user-friendly screw-style log clamp that securely holds the log in place during milling. It consists of two 6′ 5″ (1.95m) sections, allowing for logs up to 10′ 4″ (3.1m) in length. Optionally the Bushlander XL, on the other hand, boasts a longer cut length of 16′ 9″ (5.1m).

GAS & GO OPERATION

Simultaneously, the engine RPM, saw blade and auto lube system are engaged by the throttle handle, which makes the lumber cutting process quick and efficient while reducing the number of steps needed by the operator. Depending on the track height, the throttle handle position can also be adjusted for comfort.

RAPIDCHANGE™ BLADE SYSTEM

The Woodland Mills HM122 portable sawmill offers an exclusive RapidChange™ blade system that allows for quick blade changes without the need for tools. This system also reduces the need for blade tracking adjustments between changes. A stack of Belleville washers serves as a shock absorber for the blade, providing consistent blade tension in all temperatures and reducing stress on the blades.

THIN KERF BLADES

The HM122 portable sawmill uses hardened-tipped blades that measure 1.25″ x 125″ x 0.042″ (32mm x 3.175m x 1.0mm) and are sold by Old Talgai. The blade kerf is minimized to just .080″ (2mm), which allows for maximum lumber yield per log.

BUSHLANDER™ TRAILER

The Bushlander™ off-road trailer package offers enhancedmobility for your milling operation. It is designed to navigate uncharted hardwood

forest and rough terrain found in Australia, allowing you to conveniently bring

your HM122 portable sawmill directly to the logs. You can connect it to your

towing vehicle using the included 2” (50mm) ball hitch. The raised track

provides a more comfortable and ergonomic working height, and the trailer can

easily be rolled into storage when not in use or for maintenance. The Bushlander

trailer features 8 leveling legs (12 – XL Trailer) that can be deployed and

adjusted for uneven terrain, and rugged 6 ply off-road tires that can be

removed to clear the operator’s walking path when milling. Additionally, an

optional log loading ramp kit is available for the Bushlander, which allows you

to load logs without the need for additional equipment.

PATENT PENDING FOLDING TRAILER EXTENSION

The Bushlander XL comes equipped with a patent-pendingfolding trailer extension that can be easily folded and secured to the HM122 saw

head during transport. When folded up, the track acts as a structural brace

that helps secure the sawmill head during off-road travel. Its compact form

makes it easier to navigate narrow spaces and paths and creates a smaller

footprint when stored in your shed, shop, or garage. Additionally, the

Bushlander XL includes an additional 6’ 5” (1.95m) track length, leveling legs,

and a screw-style log clamp with a transport strap.

OPTIONAL LOG LOADING RAMP & WINCH KIT

The heavy-duty log loading ramp & winch kit is an optional accessory for the Bushlander trailer that can be mounted onto the trailer, enabling you to easily roll logs weighing up to 2,500 lbs (1,134 kgs) onto the sawmill bed. The kit comes with two steel ramps, a manual hand crank winch with 30′ (9m) synthetic rope, winch post, and locking pins to secure ramps to the trailer when not in use or during transit. This kit is sold separately and is compatible with both the Bushlander Standard and XL trailer.
