If you’re looking to produce wide live edge slabs for tabletops, counters, benches, large beams and more, the HM130MAX portable sawmill is the perfect tool for the job. With a 30″ (76cm) diameter log capacity and a 30″ (76cm) throat opening, this sawmill allows for wider cuts, giving you the ability to create larger slabs. The included 14hp Kohler gas powered electric start engine provides plenty of horsepower to get the job done.
The HM130MAX portable sawmill features a heavy-duty 4 post head design with a reinforced back beam, ensuring the machine can handle even the toughest cutting tasks. This sawmill is also loaded with new and innovative features, such as the automatic blade lubricant system that activates when the throttle is engaged and the RapidChange™ blade system for quick and tool-less blade changes.

WIDE PRECISION CUTTING
With our widened throat feature, matching the maximum log diameter, you can now slice through 30″ (76cm) logs without squaring the cant, making it perfect for your hardwood Australian forest. With the standard track and trailer configuration, you can cut logs up to 10′ 5″ (3.1m) long, however upgrading to the Woodlander MAX XL allows you to cut logs up to 16’11” (5.1m) long, providing unbelievable cut accuracy and precision, enabling you to cut veneers as thin as 1/16″ (2mm). Furthermore, cutting within 1″ (25mm) of the deck ensures that you maximize your usable board foot output.
EFFICIENT POWER FOR BIGGER LOGS
The HM130MAX is powered by a dependable 14hp 4-cycle Kohler gas engine with electric start, making it easy to operate. The engine boasts a slant cylinder design with a cast iron cylinder bore and an overhead valve that provides easy access. Additionally, the Quad-Clean 4 stage air filtration system ensures that only clean air enters the engine, leading to maximum power and longer engine life. With its industrial centrifugal clutch, the HM130MAX offers effortless gas-and-go operation. It comes standard with both electric and recoil start options, although a 12V battery is required for electric start, which is not included in the purchase.
RIGID TRACK SYSTEM
The sawmill head of the HM130MAX moves along a solid 2.5″ x 4″ (63mm x 101mm) “L” channel that is reinforced with heavy-duty 3″ x 6″ (76mm x 152mm) rectangular channels. These cross supports are crucial in dispersing the weight of the log over a larger bearing surface, preventing the log from being marked with indentations. Moreover, the cross supports are coated with stainless steel caps to avoid staining certain types of wood, such as oak, due to contact with painted surfaces. Not only do these heavy-duty cross supports protect the log, but they also offer extra stability to the track system. The track system is coupled with a trailer package that comprises 1/4″ (6mm) thick laser-cut and bent side plates and tubular cross supports, creating an incredibly sturdy chassis. The track system can accommodate log lengths of up to 10′ 5″ (3.1m) in length, but upgrading to the Woodlander XL allows for cutting of logs up to 16’11” (5.1m) long.
AUTO LOCKING SAWHEAD
Achieve super precise and consistent control with the HM130MAX sawmill’s easy-to-use auto locking sawhead. Push the handle in and rotate it through 16 locking locations to move the sawhead up or down, providing you with accurate adjustments within 1/64″ accuracy. The acme lead screw works in tandem with the handle to provide you with the utmost precision. Optionally, a power drive is available to make the adjustment to sawmill head height. The sawmill also includes traditional magnetic log scale rulers for accurate cuts.
AUTO LOCKING ADJUSTABLE BLADE GUIDE
The HM130MAX sawmill features an Auto Locking Adjustable Blade Guide that reduces blade wander by keeping the guides close to the wood being cut. This premium system is constructed using stainless steel v-rollers and a matched machined aluminium arm, making it a superior choice over traditional adjustable blade guides.
GAS & GO OPERATION
The HM130MAX sawmill is equipped with a throttle handle that engages the engine RPM, saw blade and auto lube system simultaneously. This design simplifies the lumber cutting process and reduces the number of steps required by the operator, making it quick and efficient. Additionally, the throttle handle position is adjustable for optimal comfort based on the track height.
RAPIDCHANGE™ BLADE SYSTEM
the Woodland Mills HM130MAX portable sawmill offers an exclusive RapidChange™ blade system, which is a tool-less approach for quickly changing blades. This system reduces the amount of blade tracking adjustments required between blade changes, making the process more efficient. Additionally, a stack of Belleville washers is used as a shock absorber for the blade, providing consistent blade tension in all temperatures and reducing stress on your blades.
THIN KERF BLADES
The HM130MAX portable sawmill uses standard 1.25″ x158″ x .042″ (32mm x 4013mm x 1mm) Woodmaster hardened tipped blades
that are readily available through Old Talgai. With a blade kerf of just
.080″ (2mm), you can maximize the amount of lumber produced from each log.
WOODLANDER™ TRAILER
The Woodlander portable sawmill trailer features a galvanized steel frame, torsion axle suspension system, and tires. The chassis is constructed using laser-cut bent plates and tubular cross supports, resulting in a rigid box-style structure when combined with the sawmill track system. The trailer package comes with an LED light kit (including stop, turn, tail, side markers, and license plate light), safety chains, and a 2″ (50mm) ball receiver. Four leveling jacks enable quick and stable setup on uneven ground, and a sawmill head locking kit is included for transport. The Woodlander trailer is available in two lengths, and an optional log loading ramp kit can be added for loading logs without additional equipment.
